Fun Ways to Announce Your PregnancyBy Lori Ramsey of Stages-in-Pregnancy.comAnnouncing a new pregnancy is often a very fun and exciting thing to do. Whether you wait a few weeks or even a month or two or if you’re ready to blurt it out right now come up with a fun way of spreading the good news. Telling The Father Plan a wonderful romantic candle-lit dinner for two. Serve up baby carrots, baby back ribs and anything else you can think as baby. Make a point to refuse anything alcoholic to drink. Hand him a gift. Inside you can have a tiny baby bib that says, “I heart My Daddy” or a pair of baby booties. Sometimes you can’t tell dad right away or you won’t be there in person – send a box and place a few baby items, everything in blue and pink and a baby naming book in the center. Add a card with the box and say “Dear Dad, I plan to arrive on (put due date) and I will be needing a name. Love, your baby. Play a guessing game. Go to the dollar store and pick up a bunch of small baby items, a bib, rattle, bottle, booties, etc. Leave them in different places around the house to see if he notices. At the end of the week if he hasn’t figured it out yet, prepare the big gift. Put a personalized baby toy by his plate at supper. Have a bib or a T-shirt on a stuffed toy that says BABY – have the stuffed toy hold a card that is signed from baby. Telling Family and Friends Show up to a family gathering wearing a shirt that announces your state. There are many places that will personalize a T-shirt for you. Or find one with a cute saying like “I swallowed a watermelon seed.” Or “Busy Building a Human”, etc. You’ll be answering a ton of questions. Tell grandparents they are a grandparent times (whatever number of grandchildren this will make.) If they are first time grandparents give them a T-shirt or mug that says “#1 Grandma” or “#1 Grandpa”. Ask other moms how they spread their pregnancy news – get creative with the announcement. But most importantly - have fun! Contributed by Lori Ramsey of Stages in Pregnancy. All rights reserved ©Lori Ramsey, no reproduction allowed. |
