Creative Ways to Announce Your Pregnancy

Just think… you’ve had the excitement of seeing a positive pregnancy test. Now you get to announce your good news to the world!! First though, you will want to tell your husband, unless he was present when you first took the pregnancy test. Coming up with unique and creative ways to announce the pregnancy to your mate can be fun too!

Probably the most uncreative way to announce your pregnancy to your partner/husband is to have him in the bathroom with you while you take the pregnancy test. This allows him to share in your hopeful excitement or even lament if it’s negative. Though this isn’t too creative – it can be exciting. I had my husband with me when I tested for my fourth pregnancy. I remember as we both watch the strip waiting to see if the 2nd line appeared. And the sheer joy we felt together when we discovered that yes, we were indeed pregnant.

If you want the opportunity to plan a creative way of announcing the good news here are some cute ideas:


* Baby gift. Find an obvious baby gift and wrap it and address the card to him. The gift could be something like a Onesie or a bib that says “I love Daddy”. This could be given during a romantic dinner or lunch.

* Card. Give him a Father’s Day card or a special card in which you could enclose the positive pregnancy test.

* Radio Station. Call his favorite radio station and have them announce it at a time when you know he’ll be listening – such as on the way to work.

* T-Shirt. Find a cute maternity T-shirt for you to wear that says: “I’m Pregnant” – or “Barefoot and Pregnant” or something that alludes to your new condition!

* Treasure Hunt. Plan out a treasure hunt around the house. Leave little notes that spell out “I’m Pregnant!”


With a little imagination you can come up with your own creative way of announcing your pregnancy to your husband. Likewise you can find neat ways to make the announcement to your family and friends. Make it a moment of celebration and a memory you will cherish forever.
